Pigmentation Toning: Our Clinic's Unique Approach

1. A Consultation and Treatment System that Enhances Treatment Density

Through 1:1 dedicated consultations focused on each patient and ample appointment time, we can provide more precise and focused treatments.

2. Three Toning Methods Considering Area Characteristics

By applying double, fractional, and basic toning methods tailored to the characteristics of each area, we can reduce skin irritation and enhance treatment efficiency.

3. Over 1500 Shots: Treatment Standards Based on Medical Evidence

According to clinical studies, pigmentation improvement responses are known to appear when treatments accumulate over 1000-1500 shots. Therefore, we apply the principle of using over 1500 shots when treating each area.

4. Systematic Management of Treatment Progress Through Records

For body areas, we record the changes as data through pre- and post-treatment photography. Based on this, individual treatment plans and skin responses are analyzed and customized.

5. We Value Our Patients' Time

Our policy of a 5% discount for every 10 minutes of waiting time that exceeds 10 minutes is more than just providing a service; it is an important principle of ours to respect our patients' valuable time.

Pigmentation Toning: The Approach Our Clinic Proposes

1. A Treatment Environment Designed to Enhance Treatment Density

By limiting the number of patients seen per day and having medical staff directly conduct 1:1 consultations, we strive to provide customized treatments for each individual.

Thanks to ample reserved time, we can fully concentrate on the treatment without being constrained by time.

While closely observing the skin's reaction during treatment, we flexibly adjust parameters such as irradiation mode, energy intensity, and pattern. This approach leads us to expect more accurate and dense treatment results.

2. Minimum 1500 Shots or More – Based on Effective Treatment Dosage

When performing body pigmentation treatment, we adhere to the principle of a minimum of 1500 shots per area.

This standard is not just an arbitrary number. It is based on clinical studies such as Kauvar et al., Dermatol Clin (2012), where significant pigmentation improvement responses were observed with accumulated irradiation exceeding 1000-1500 shots.

Considering each patient's pigmentation distribution, depth, and skin reaction speed, we comprehensively and delicately plan and apply an effective treatment dosage.

3. We Record and Analyze Treatment Progress as Data

Pigmentation in body areas can sometimes be difficult to precisely identify with diagnostic equipment. Therefore, at our clinic, we conduct individual pre- and post-treatment photography to consistently observe the treatment progress.

These recorded photos go beyond simple before-and-after comparisons. They are utilized as important data to evaluate treatment responses and adjust future treatment plans.

Pigmentation Toning: Our Clinic's Treatment Principle

– Beyond simple removal, a multi-faceted management method from pigment creation to transfer and retention.

1. Selective Breakdown of Melanin Pigment

Using low-power laser toning with a 1064nm wavelength, we precisely target only melanin pigment and repeatedly irradiate it.

While minimizing the risk of damage to surrounding tissues, only the pigment is gradually broken down. Through this, a gradual evening out of skin tone can be expected.

→ Melanin only targeted / Minimize skin irritation

2. By Reducing Cell Stimulation, Only Pigment is Broken Down

By delivering energy in short durations of nanoseconds, stimulation to melanocytes (pigment-producing cells) is reduced.

Only melanin pigment within cells is selectively broken down.

→ Lowers the risk of regeneration, reduces the burden of side effects, and stable treatment is expected.

3. Regulating Part of the Pigment Transfer Pathway

Melanin pigment is transferred to the skin surface through the dendrites of melanocytes.

Laser toning, by regulating part of this pigment transfer pathway, can help reduce new pigment from rising to the skin surface.

→ Improvement of existing pigment + Management of new pigment formation + Regulation of transfer pathway

Pigmentation Toning: Typical Treatment Cycle

Generally, we recommend a total of 10 or more treatments at intervals of 1-2 weeks.

Laser toning uses a method of irradiating multiple times with low energy. Because of this, with just a single treatment, the degree of pigment particle breakdown may be minimal.

Generally, you can experience changes in your skin after receiving 5 to 10 or more treatments.

The reason for setting the treatment interval between 1 and 2 weeks is to consider the process by which macrophages process pigment after melanin breakdown, as well as the skin regeneration cycle. Skin regenerates approximately every 7-14 days.

For the purpose of generally evening out and managing skin tone, we recommend maintenance toning treatments at intervals of 3 to 6 weeks.

After completing the treatment, the focus is on preventing repigmentation and gently improving skin texture.

Pigmentation Toning Treatment Process

1. Diagnosis and Customized Design of Treatment Area

We carefully examine the depth of pigmentation, skin thickness, and sensitivity.

Accordingly, we plan the laser intensity, number of shots, and handpiece to suit the characteristics of each area.

2. Identifying Focus Areas with a Mirror

Together with the patient, we use a mirror to directly identify the pigmentation areas that are of most concern.

We develop a treatment plan centered on these areas and adjust it to ensure effective management.

3. Laser Toning Treatment (Minimum 1500 shots per area)

We generally apply the standard toning method, and if necessary, RTP or fractional toning can be combined.

To ensure sufficient effect without burdening the skin, we irradiate a minimum of 1500 shots.

4. Post-Treatment Area Confirmation and Guidance

Immediately after the treatment, we provide a detailed explanation of what was done, including the total number of shots.

We also check the skin's reaction status and provide guidance on appropriate post-treatment care.

7. Treatment Progress Tracking and Comparison (Upon Request)

Due to the nature of body areas, precise diagnostic imaging is not always easy.

If desired, we can take progress photos before and after 5 and 10 treatments for comparison.

Recommended Candidates for Pigmentation Toning

1. Individuals concerned about pigmentation in the underarms or bikini line after hair removal.

This can be considered if post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) has occurred due to repeated irritation after shaving or waxing.

2. Individuals with pigmentation on the buttocks or inner thighs due to sitting posture or tight underwear.

When pigmentation has reached the dermis due to continuous pressure and friction, delicate laser toning can be helpful.

3. Individuals whose cleavage or sides have darkened due to friction from sportswear or bra straps.

Pigmentation that is shallow and widely spread can be helped by laser toning to achieve a more even skin tone.

4. Areas with thick skin and old pigmentation, such as knees, elbows, and ankles.

These areas often have deep dermal pigmentation, so combining with fractional toning is recommended, and consistent treatments may be more effective.

5. Individuals concerned about pigmentation caused by acne marks or acne scars on the back or buttocks.

This can help improve pigmentation marks remaining from repeated inflammation and uneven skin texture.

6. Individuals concerned about body pigmentation that has not improved with whitening products or home care alone.

In such cases, laser treatment that directly targets melanin pigment within the skin can be considered.

7. Rather than simply aiming to 'whiten' the body,

we recommend it for those who wish to improve areas that are noticeably 'darker'.

Rather than brightening the overall skin tone,

if you are concerned about specific areas appearing dark or patchy,

body toning can be a good solution.

Post-Treatment Precautions

  • Facial cleansing and makeup are possible from the day of the treatment. It is especially important to pay attention to sun protection.
  • For skin that has experienced temporary irritation after a procedure, soothing and moisturizing care is even more important.
  • After your procedure, you might occasionally experience some swelling or redness. In most cases, these symptoms gradually subside over time. However, if these symptoms persist for more than a few days or cause significant discomfort, we recommend contacting the clinic or scheduling a visit to have your condition checked.
